The construction of Beijing city dates back to the first year of King Cheng of Western Zhou Dynasty, that year was 1042 BC, making the city 3043 years old.1063 years ago, in 938AD,the Liao dynasty made Beijing its second capital. The Jin Dynasty established the Middle Capital there in 1151AD, 850 years ago. |

After the Yuan Dynasty unified China, the Great Capital became the capital of the whole country.
